There are no requirements nor conditions on which you can join the team. No matter if you want to contribute a few lines of code or become an active commiter - if you want you are welcome. However SubRecord is not a trivial project. Not the best to start programming with for sure, probably there are ones that fit better. Chances are if you are a Java newbie it may be hard to bring yourself up to speed. We may promise help and patience, but please have in mind it may not be an easy exercise
Asking us if you can contribute is pointless - of course you can, but it is not us to make it happen. If you have read the docs and you do understand what it is about and you think you can help somehow - do that and that’s it.
Good luck new devs!
Hi,
I am a java developer willing to contribute in this project with the expectation to get opportunity to learn new technologies. Let me know if you find me suitable to work in this project.
Thanks,
Kamlesh B.

Kamlesh,
Thanks for your offer. Let me add some info here as it is a repeatable situation. As the statement above says - There is no official admission to the project. This is a totally open project. However I can’t make one a member based on his/her introduction as it is a matter of achievements not my ad hoc decision. Basically if you have already digged the website and you know what it is about, you have checked out the code, imported to an IDE and you feel you could start
If you can do something you are
creative playing with that - this is actually kind of start . If you tackle some task and finally have some code to commit I’ll gladly give you permission to commit. That’s how you can become a member. Like you can see it is more in your
hands than in mine. People tend to start with asking me to let them join
and there is nothing to ask for
automatically accepted. On the other hand if you can’t we may exchange emails endlessly with no concrete outcome.
